Inspired by one of Donegal’s ancient sacred sites. Our Beltany Stone Circle risograph print features an original illustration of Beltany Stone Circle, a circle of over 60 standing stones located just outside the town of Raphoe, in County Donegal. Beltany is one of Ireland’s oldest Neolithic sites, dating back to 2100-700BC.
Cara’s original hand-drawn artwork highlights the stone circle formation and cup-marked stone, as well as the carved stone head. These symbols echo an ancient connection to landscape and community.
This print was created using the unique technique of risograph (or “riso”) printing. Risography combines the efficiency of digital printing with the charm of traditional screen printing. Each colour layer is printed separately using eco-friendly soy-based inks, resulting in vibrant, textured prints with unique overlaps and subtle variations that make every print truly one-of-a-kind.
