A print inspired by the analogue ways of life, when library books were stamped with their return date on a little slip inside the front cover.
When I used to look at those dates, I thought about everyone who borrowed the book before me . I loved studying each date, looking for specifics like a birthday, or the exact day from the year before, or even my own record from when I borrowed a book before. It was lovely record of past encounters and little traces of the other people who picked up the book.
This print was created using the unique technique of risograph (or “riso”) printing. Risography combines the efficiency of digital printing with the charm of traditional screen printing. Each colour layer is printed separately using eco-friendly soy-based inks, resulting in vibrant, textured prints with unique overlaps and subtle variations that make every print truly one-of-a-kind.
Printed by Cara on premium Munken Pure 170gsm paper, in Derry Print Workshop. Printed using HD Black, Bright Red and Yellow on a RISO MZ1070e.
